Following Government guidance it is advised that children wear loose light-fitted clothing, have plenty of fluids, use high factor suncream, wear a wide brimmed hat and stay in the shade. Children cannot control their body temperature as efficiently as adults during hot weather, therefore keeping children cool and hydrated will be our main focus.
Fortunately the majority of our rooms at Mountford House have air conditioning and we will ensure that ALL children in the nursery have access to these rooms, therefore some groups of children may be in a different room for the majority of the day.
We will make use of our lovely shaded outdoor areas on a rota basis, avoiding the hottest time of the day, 11am to 3pm.
We have also adapted our menus to offer cool meals.
