The Baby and Toddler Unit is run by experienced, dedicated staff who have a sound knowledge of the needs of young children. Records of your child's eating, sleeping patterns and nappy changes are kept along with medical and accident records. Development records are also kept to help with the progression of children and these are discussed at regular parent's evenings. As children become more independent they will be encouraged to explore a carefully planned programme of activities which follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Guidance.
Pre-School (3 - 5 years)
The pre-school setting continues the Early Years Foundation Stage Guidance to allow smooth transition from the baby and Toddler Unit. Children then follow a well planned and differentiated curriculum of structured work and play designed to achieve early learning goals in preparation for school life.
The Nursery consists of three extensive rooms. A baby room and joined toddler room to accommodate a maximum of 19 children, and a pre-school room to accommodate a maximum of 21 children. Within the pre-school setting there is also a library room and a separate dining room. Outside there is a conventional playground and two large lawns. There is also a large games room that ensures children have the opportunity for physical play throughout the year.
